Fridge magnets are a great gift for family and friends and can be made easily using household items or kits bought online from many of the special craft stores specialising in magnet making hobbies.

To get started with basic fridge magnet making you will need to find some magnets which most people have at the back of a drawer or behind the sofa. If you do not have any small magnets to hand them a quick trip to a local DIY store will get you everything you need.

To make a simple fridge magnet you need some card and felt tip pens. Create a circle around the size of a yoghurt lid on a piece of thick card then use your felt tip pens to draw a picture of your favourite animal or person.

Using some PVA glue stick you’re drawing to the magnet then leave to dry for a few hours. During this time you can add some features like glitter or spray paint to make the drawing even more exciting.
